Film Language: sound presentation & sound task.

In film clip above, the extract uses various of sound techniques. At the start of the clip, the music at the background is non-diegetic sound as it is added to create the dramatic/tension in the scene between the two characters. The lighting also supports the idea of having the dramatic look as it quite dark and as the top lighting allows the audience to accentuate the features of the two characters. The use of the thunder sound illustrates to us that it is diegetic sound the sound is coming from the story world which adds a realistic mood towards it. In addition, there is a sound bridge; when we hear the sound of the thunder at first and then few seconds later there is the visual view of thunder and lighting when the characters looks up. Throughout the extract, the sounds are parallel for the scene, as it is sounds that are approbate for that particular environment or its something we would for the scene and the sound to go together. The dialogue in the extract are diegetic as it is happening during the same sense. At the middle of the scene, the sound effects are quite dominate because of the effect it has within the scene, it draws the attention of the audience even more into the scene and makes the scene realistic.
