Film Lanuage; Lighting.

This images has the effect of low key lighting, because of how the strong contrasts of the light and dark to create the dramatic shadows. The effect is known as chiaroscuro, in the image the background colour is black which represents the genre of to which it could be; horror or sci-fi, this also supports the mood of the audiences to be dark and dull when you do look at it, however the use of the smoke being in most parts of the frame makes us wonder what the characters play may be and what emotions she wants to get through the audience. This is a strong effect also because of the facial expression the character has, the slightly narrowed eyes could explain that she may be femme fatale. In this image there is the use of key light and filler light, you can clearly see that the key lighting is coming from the side as it has the brightness and most influential lighting can be seen at the side of her face, the use of lighting allows the audience see her facial expressions and some could say that lighting that is coming from the side of her face to represent that she could have a good side to her? rather then all bad. The use of the filler light softens the shadow and this is created by another light.

This image has a low-key lighting because most of the image has the background colour of black and only a key light that is hitting the lady's face for the audience to see her facial expression and her pose. The use of the low-key lighting creates the effect of a dark filed and dramatic shadows within the image making the audience think of horror/sci-fi movies as they are quite dark and scary references to those type of genre. In this image the lighting is referred as top lighting as the lighting is coming from above, this effect accentuate the features of the character, this effect is oftern used to make the film starts more glamorous and attractive visible to the camera. The effects that are created by lighting in this image is that as the character is looking up, it looks like she's thinking about something and her fingers are rested on her jaw line is shows that she's thinking something deep so the audience could connect to the characters emotion.

This image uses high key lighting, because it uses more filter light  and the effect seems realistic the use of the light and darkness isn't so of a huge difference although the brightness is very high. The lighting that is being used is back lighting because behind the character we can see a source of lighting that catches our attention when we look at the background, this effect create a silhouette, although we can see the character clearly but their outlines are visible. Also key lighting has also been used because of the brightness and influential lighting. Using these lighting effects
we as the audience can clearly see the characters facial expressions which tells us that he has a cute concentrated face as his eyebrows are narrowed and its almost like he's glaring into the camera shot.

Low key lighting has been used to create the effect by using key lighting and back lighting, this effect allows the audience to see the dark and dramatic shows in the images. the key lighting has brightest and influential lighting and the back lighting allows and helps to counteract the effects of the key lighting, making the subject more rounding and allows the audience to see the little details within the image and the character itself. The shot has been taken from a downwards shot to make the character look as if they are in more of a powerful status and their importance. In this image the lighting has be used to come top of the character to enhance and accentuate the defeaters of the characters. The lighting has been used to make the audience see what type of character he would be and they can then support that idea by the use of facial expression and body language they have.

In this image it uses low key lighting because it has mainly light and some elements of contrasts, this then creates a shadow that we can see of the character. This is used by key lights and filler light as the lights is being shown on the character, her shadow comes across to the audience by the wall behind her. The filler light help to soften any shadows created by the lights. I think another element of lighting that has been used is under-lighting because it needs to be upfront of the character to have that many brightness and shine at front to crate this effect. This effect, allows to us to clearly see the characters facial expression so we can get a hint of what type of charter she is and what emotions she could be feeling in that moment.

High key lighting has been used in this image, more filler lights have been used to create a realistic and dimly lit scene, this also supports the type of atomsphere the two characters are in. There is still a contrast and a balance of the light and dark. The backlighting (from the window) shines through the two characters to create a silhouette this also highlights the key features of the characters. Using these lighting, the audience is able to connect to the audience and see the characters facial expression and also gives the visual references on the image in depth and simply so the characters can be seen by the public.

Low lighting has been used in this image which is used by back lighting and key, this effect uses a contrast of light and dark and particularly in this image it has shown dramatic shadows of the 4 men in this image. The backlighting has been used in this image is so the characters can be seen by the audience and it outlines the characters shape and the audience can spot them easily. The key lighting is important because it has the brightness and the influential lighting can allow the dramatic shades to take place. This can also create a silhouette. The key effect this lighting brings towards the audience is the detail and depth they can see in the image.

Low key lighting has been used again by using key and back lights, the effect creates dramatic shadows, this is because of the contrast between the light and dark. As the light is backlight is shown on the character, the shadows is dramatic and visible to be seen, the lighting allows the audience to see the characters facial expression and see how she's feeling then. There is many uses of filler light been used in this image instead using underweight, top or back lighting. The filler background softens the shadows and allows the lighting to be hit in serval angles within in the image.

High key lighting, is being used in this image, which means that more filter lights, this makes the image more realistic. In the image there isn't any shadows which allows the audience to focus on the character and the is in the centre of the frame which makes us pay attention even more, the character looks like she's trying to reach out and pray to God for something else for she's desperate for. You can't really see the lighting that is in this image but the filters that are in this image prevent them from seeing as the picture is very sharp and accentuate the features of the characters.

This image is Low key lighting as there is mainly dark in this image and only having light hit is face, this makes the audience think of the genre of the movie it could be; which may be horror because of the setting and the position of the character also the setting that he is, the lighting encourages this theme. The back lighting helps to counteract the effects of key light making the subject 'rounded' also you can see the characters shadows at the side of the door, so they key light is also facing at the side of the character, which gives the horror/dark effect.

This image has low key lighting because the light and dark are being balanced which creates the dramatic shadows behind the two characters. The under-lighting comes from below the the characters so thats why they haven't got a big shadow, its only in certain places mainly shone on them instead of being as a shadow but they are some elements of shadows. The key lighting makes the lighting be that is being being directed at them, allows the audience to focus on the two characters where have their moment captured well the audience is drawn in by them, as they are framed in the center of the image, the audience aren't distracted by anything else in the image but jus their embraces with one and other.
